S4 Tail Light Revival
Before,my tail lights were dull. The black sections were faded, almost gray looking. So I figured I throw this up for the people that want to renew their S4 tail lights. (Excuse the crappy cell phone pictures. Its all I have.)
![]() So I took a little bit of high grit sandpaper and roughed up the surface a little. I masked off the sections that I did not want to paint black. ![]() I applied a 2-3 coats of flat black. ( I waited about 10-15 minutes between each coat) ![]() Then I ripped off all the masking tape. ![]() Then I applied a few coats of Krylon Clear Gloss. (Again I waited in between coats) Just make sure when you do the clear coat, that you are in a non windy and non dusty environment. You don't want to get dust and crud in your clear coat. ![]() ![]() There you go. Put em back on your car and you have some shiny revived S4 Tail lights ![]() |

Interesting choice to do the flat black and then clearcoat. When I had my black 7 painted I had him do the whole rear in the gloss black. I liked the uniformity of all glossy. I'd be interested to see what the difference was between yours and mine. Got any pics yet?
