Ipod Ashtray Dock.

I'm making me an ipod dock to replace my ashtray. I have not yet gathered everything but I threw together a photoshop for you guys.. I'm also thinking about making some for sale. Depending on how this one turns out and if I have extra time.

Anyway here is the shops.

Edit: Sorry I'm not much for introductions and so on.. I just wanted to show progress..

I'm trying to figure out if I should use a plexiglass base or do the whole thing in fiberglass.

I wouldn't have put it in the ashtray, but good on ya. I'm thinking of doing something similar but putting it next to (in the same plastic piece) as the mirror switch on the center console.

i always thought the best spot would be where the security light is (unless you have fog lights or something important there). It could lay flat in a felt lined cut-out...

Yeah, same deal. I think that will only work with a nano size or shuffle. Unfortunately it looks like he's got a large video type there.

Hey, I havn't checked back here since a day or two after the post but I have not put it there.. I got the mold ready before I got the ipod. It took half a month to ship across the US. I think it was hand delivered. Anyway, I have also thought about putting it in the middle console either in the glove box or where the security light is. I think I'm putting it there instead.. Because now that I have owned an ipod I know it can't go in the ashtray.

So hopefully when I get around to doing this I'll have pictures of it. One question though where should I relocate the mirror and headrest switches.. Nevermind the headrest switches. I'm Thinking of deleting them And so on. I'll figure something out.
