Nagisa Fender Braces

Well after waiting 60 days today I finally got my Fender Braces. I was wondering if anyone has ever put these things on a FD. Please speak up if you have as I am about to start this project. I have heard nothing but good reports on these braces.

Yeah I've been looking at those for a while now. They work really well on nissans/hondas, so I don't see why it wouldn't work for our cars. Keep us updated.

Well the fender braces are on. It is an easy install, HOWEVER if you have ever had any front damage at all this upgrade needs to be a pass for you. The Nagisa braces are a close fit. Taking off the front bumper skin is an easy put and the fender is super easy as well. You will have to bend down a drain vent bay about an 1/8 on the front so the brace does not rub and thus making ALOT of noise.

I did what any normal guy would do here and sent off my front bumper skin and fenters to get re-painted, will be all back together by Friday next week.

haha what everytime you have your fenders or front bumper off you don't get them repainted

Oh yea....forgot the headlight covers as well

Oh by the way. If you ever need to repair a headlight cover, tabs break off, you can use a hotcha repair kit. It is the only repair material I know of in the world that will adhere to this plastic. Cost 50.00 for 4oz but works really well. My garage is out of control...again

Let us know what you think of these. I have been interested in these for a while now. I have an ae86 as a daily driver and hear nothing but positive reviews about these for that platform. I hear that they actually make the front end sag less when you put the car on jack stands in the front only. What i mean by this is. If you jack the car up by the subframe and then put jack stands on the frame rails just under the windshield, as you lower the car onto the jack stands the whole front end kind of sags as the weight is put onto the stands. So that must mean it makes a difference as far as rigidity is concerned.

Well I got my car all back together and aligned. I must say that I am quite happy with these braces. I drive the same road to work each day and have a history with it. The car has a very tight feel with each turn. I would say that it is brisk. It appears to me that these braces should have been the first brace upgrade not my last. The only other time if felt such a significant change is when I installed the full set of Auto Exec braces which did a lot for body flex but nothing for turn in. I really do not know how best to explain it but in my opinion almost anyone who drive a car with these on would comment on the "feel" of the road they have. Hope this helps

Great to hear. Are you completely convinced that the difference in feel are due to the fender braces and not at all by the alignment?

The only reason I got an alignment was I had the spindles off to put on the wilwood brake kit. To do that with an Auto Exec kit...... means that you total the alignment settings. I must say I now understand why the SCCA guys love this brace so much.

Got about 200 miles on the old girl now and I have decided that I love these things. If you are in SCCA events you will love the feel these give you.
