How do I remove the FTP's?
I put this in Kevin's area, but I figure I'd populate the 2nd gen section more and make stuff searchable if there's more tools like me who have this question.
How the hell do you take the FTP lenses out? ![]() Referring to one of them: I took 2 nuts off of it and can't see anything else that I would remove. Do I just push it from the inside away from the car (towards the ground)? I'm trying not to break them and don't want to just go pushing randomly or whatever. When I did give it some pressure it didn't even budge and I didn't wanna go farther. I have to polish them up and make them all pretty for DGRR. |

One day a year or two ago, I noticed that one of my ftp lenses was gone, it was loose and must have fallen out during a drive. So took the other one out, don't remember if I had any trouble with it though.
See if you can push or tap on the studs that the nuts were attach to, maybe that will loosen them up. |

If it was randomly missing then I guess they come out towards the front of the car. Time to go get a rubber mallet.

its just the two nuts. try pushing on the studs them selves with something. if you just push on the lens, the studs will probably break off

Alright, that's what I thought, I just didn't wanna screw anything up. I have a huge tendency to break plastic stuff... Wish me luck.

Originals will usually break into little itty bitty plastic pieces.
![]() Hate to tell you this... The plastic tends to fuse with the paint from the front bumper. -Ted |

yup, BE CAREFUL with the studs. Worst case scenario: Studs stay with the car and the plastic lens is in your hand.

I noticed yesterday that on my car the studs are still in place.
Now I'm really confused on how I took the one lens that didn't fall out, out. :scratch_head: |
