RX-8 autoX suspension
I was wondering if anyone has any experience auto-xing an RX-8 with suspension mods such as a coilover kit or a strut/spring combo? A lot of kits or combos also lower the car and I was worried about the tires rubbing the wheel wells.
I have been looking at the MS coilovers or maybe some of the Koni yellows with the MS springs or Eibach prokit springs. Any experience or advice would be appreciated. |

Stock 8 suspension does fairly well in auto-x honestly. Even leaving the traction control on and rolling w/ it....
Now on my 7 back in the day I preferred Koni yellows and a spring combo - its all in the setup and tires though really, and ultimately your preference. The stickier the tire, the less rear sway you want... slicks, just disconnect it. Thats the biggest benefit I've noticed w/out a lot of $$ |

RX-8's do well in stock class, so get yourself some Koni's or Bilstein's shocks on stock springs, as well as a different front sway bar.
Check the SCCA rules as to what's allowed. |
