My 8 with Mazdaspeed catback.

I installed the catback today and I have to say, its not bad... Maybe 2-3 hp gain and noise is bit more throaty.

Here are some pics

After

Very good looking car. How much was the cat back system?

I don't have my original bumper.. Sorry..

Gianny, I did the work with a friend of mine and used his lift. Took about an hour to do the exhaust and check my tranny and diff fluids.

Hardest part was removing the rubber hangers. Key was to use WD-40, long nose pliers, and crow bar. Next hardest part was bolting the catback flange to the cat. The OEM bolts are spring loaded and that was kind of tricky and good to have second hand.
We used couple of Vice to hold things together and after about 15 mins, we got it on..

Also, the pipe between the cat and the muffler... The hanger was bit tricky. Make sure to pull out the rubber hanger off the car, install on the the pipe hanger, and then put it on the car hanger.. Otherwise, its nearly impossible to hang the mid section pipe... Trust me, we tried
Overall pretty simple job and noise is pretty good.. Not too loud and deeper tone. HP gain is almost NONE I put HKS twin on first and Catback didn't make much of a difference... maybe bit more on top end.. and my butt dyno says maybe 2-4HP max..

Looks.. well, it looks pretty stock except it says MS on it.. Quality is top notch! All SS construction and compare next to stock, much better design and lighter by about 10lbs.. 10lb is just a guess..

Oh, I bought it used about a year ago and I don't quite remember how much.... I think $400-450 used?? Don't recall..

MS catback should be legal in 50 states as Mazda sell them and sells them with warrantee.

I have Hymee and love it. I have heard MS ones before and they too sound very good.

Legal? Sound legal?
