Can I has fender flares?

Yes yes I can....

The flares were off a 1986 Jetta and required almost no modifications to make fit. The meshies will hopefully be finished with their new paint in the next few days and be going on with my 215/60-14 Firestones Indy 500s on them. Not bad for about $8 worth of flares and a few dollars in paint

Looks nice. How much width did they add?

I would guess about a 1/2-3/4 inches at the top.

Did you actually cut the inner fender and bang it up out of the way so you could actually run wider tires, or is this for kicks?

I've heard the Gen III (i think) jetta flares work well on the FB...

Hmm. Not wide enough for me, then, unfortunately.

I left the inner fenderwell intact and stock....My tires are short enough to clear the wells no problems, but my new wheels stick out a little past the wheel well and didnt want that "dirt car" look lol...

And percentsevenC, I will try to find your some more definent numbers on the width addition.

Thanks. I'll most likely end up just modding some Z flares, since I'm looking for about two inches.

When I get the Re-Speed car back to the hooch I am going to find some one to actually mold the flare kit that is on it. If you are not familiar with it look in the for sale section it should still be there.

It wasn't a hard decision to get it. What y'all have to realize is Billy and did a bunch of talking, he needed an Rx3 and I wanted his Rx7. I had a pretty decent 77 Rx3sp so we did some horse trading he gets the Rx3 I get the Rx7. We have a bunch of plans for the Re-Speed car all of which have been to Billy and he is ok with them.

Just sheet metal screws. Gonna paint over them once it warms up outside.
