What subframes swap over on older cars?
I was specifically wondering if a gsl-se or s1/s2 first gen rx-7 subframe would swap into a 1972 RX-2, or if I would need to fabricate a custom mounting bracket to put a motor with a newer front cover in there.

Ok so i looked it up some more, found out none swap really.
The stock one is modified for a 2.3 turbo motor, i'm just going to cut out the brackets that were added and fab up some new points to mount the motor to. I need to know where to put it on though. How far is the back of the rear plate away from the firewall in an RX-2?

You could find a replacement crossmember to bolt in. Would be much simpler.
contact Chad, on this site as "fire85gslse". He has an extra chassis he is parting out. -billy |
