1980 Rx7
I have owned this 1980 Rx7 since 1982. I have completely overhauled the engine in addition to the Nikki Carburetor. I am having a problem with flooding such that there is a gas pool in the carburetor. I have now twice removed the air horn, rechecking and cleaning the jets. I also rechecked float levels and made absolutely sure they are perfect. The needle seat assembly freely moves without any problems. I tested the float bowl vent solenoid and is working OK. I have read over info at www.sterlingmetalworks.com and cannot solve this problem.
I can start it and get it to idle then with an increase of rpm, it starts pouring gas in, I think from the front bowl; then it floods and stalls. Does anyone have any suggestions to solve this or recommendations of a Nikki carburetor rebuilder? Thanks!! . |

First, welcome to RCC!
We do have, both, a 1st gen specific and Carburetors and Carb Tuning subsections that you might want to post in for better exposure and answers. -Ted |
