				Various questions about Rx8 items

			1. The transmission. I have heard mixed results as to the capability of the transmission. Is it glass or at least better than the FC/FB transmissions? If not, what is a common cure? Turbo transmissions? 2. what do the engine mounts look like? Does anyone or can anyone take pictures of the mounts on the motor itself and the engine bay less motor? Maybe if you can a picture of the engine in the engine bay mounted?

We're not necessarly happy with the transmission. Alot of us have had the trans rebuilt or replaced due to ground syncros and gears. Rebuild costs are high. Mazsport is offering a 5 speed replacement for the RX8 and BHR is working on a more robust trans using the original Asian housing. This TSB pdf document has illustrations of the motor mounts. http://www.finishlineperformance.com...21-06-1559.pdf

I have heard of people having problems with their transmissions (Lots of stuff with 2nd gear and syncros), but to date I have a little of 20k miles on my 8 with no problems.

You'd be surprised...we went through a couple trannys during the Lime Rock race a few months back. Worst thing was one of the transmissions was freshly crated from Mazda and didn't even make it through a practice session.
