Well, I'm still trying to get an answer from the fabricator.. I'll keep you guys updated.

Another possibility is getting the R-spec hood replicated. Only issue is that one I found is about $5,000 (6,000 shipped from Japan). If I make that one, I would definitely need firm commitment with deposit (will be about $200 more to offset my investment to buying this R-spec hood). Let me know if you guys are interested in the R-spec.

I'm liking the Mazdaspeed hood more. THe vent seems a little farther forward for those of us doing a VMIC it makes it alot easier to duct the hood to the intercooler, or get it close enough for government work.

Hey Phil here's a question for you. If you are having these made, can you order them withOUT the holes for the wiper nozzles? I hate that look.

That sounds like a great Idea! I would like it if they marked out on the bottom of the hood where to drill out so if we changed our mind.

I'm sure that's not a problem.. But as of now, my guy is bit busy with other project/job. I'm hoping to meet up with him tomorrow and see what he can do and get a reasonable time line. Also, since the weather has gotten kind of bad and not sure if his work shop has controlled environment or not. I'll let you guys know... I also want this to go ASAP.

So, how many are interested in R-Spec?? and willing to pay 700-800 each for FG and 1000+ for CF ?? Just remember new R-spec is like 4-5K in Japan and they are SUPER rare! If we decide to make it, I'm wanting to make a limited number so its not played out. I'm thinking 25-35 total.

:cringes: I'd go for it but my vote is MS hood for a few reasons
1) I like the position of the duct better
2) Looks smoother
3) Not sure on the functionality of the side vents on the RSpec
4) It's MazdaSpeed!
5) Becuase I said so

Still a better looking hood than most out there though

I'd be in for an R-spec hood.

In for the R-Spec unit for sure!

A little more aggressive opening on the center vent would be awesome. Or I will mod mine after I get it to accommodate my v-mount.

Will be rocking my modded aluminum hood until then.

I'm still trying to talk to my fabricator.. He's been busy with his other job. I'll see what he says.

Regarding R-spec.. Maybe I should start a poll and see what you guys prefer. R-spec, I would definitely need a non refundable deposit as I would have to fork out to buy the R-spec hood to be replicated.
