Brakes, a good DD & Spirited Option
In the spirit of prepping for DGRR, and my typical daily driving, I am going to be swapping my single piston calipers for the set of 4 pistons i have sitting in the garage (bought for $15). I just need to get them painted (going red appoxy type paint). Now, I am thinking Hawk HPS pads, but where do you guys get your rotors? What's a decent cheap blank?

With my 4 piston fronts I've been using Hawk HPS pads and did not get any fade at Talladega or DGRR. I'm using generic Beck Arnley rotors and have had 0 complaints. Unless you want the bling I don't see the point in slotted, drilled, or dimpled rotors.

Pads are going to make the biggest difference. Go with what people have had good luck with. I've been running some KVR pads/rotors for a while now. They're getting swapped out this spring though for some MONSTER setups at all four corners. Something about going into a turn on the Dragon hot and getting serious brake fade will make one spend copious amounts of coin on a set of brakes

For the road, go to the Tire Rack and get Brembo OEM replacements with Hawk HPS pads. If you don't mind the copious dust and noise in favor of braking power, get Hawk HP+.

You recomend the Brembo blanks?
As for the pad, the reason i chose the HPS is due to the fact its a DD and needs to be able to stop when its -10* here

I use hps on my very with cquence dimpled and slotted rotors. Never had an issue in three years I have had them on. I think you can get them for about 150 for all four right now. I know he used to do group buys on the other boards.

HP+ has been fine for everything I've tossed at it- DD, autocross, ice racing. They're just noisy and dusty.
Nothing wrong with the Brembo blanks... |

I'm sure HP+ has been fine for those things, but why go with the noisy and dusty pad when the HPS will be far more than adequate. As I said, I had 0 issues with them on a track so they get my vote as way more than is needed.
