I drill as few holes as possible.

I use the clips @ the wheel wells, but for the face of the fender, rocker and quarter I use panel bond adhesive. Expensive - but its what holds most cars together any more. Spot welding? Thing of the past (to an extent) after this stuff came around.

First of all - unless you have every single clip for the skirts, (and the clips on the skirts @ the face of the fender and quarter are glued on the skirts with rusty ass steel brackets anyway) then you're going to need to either source some, or use glue/two face anyway. Second, if you don't have the holes, you're just introducing more spots to rust. Sure, you can dab some paint in there, but when the clip has bounced around in the hole and wore the paint off the ege after 6 months - you're starting down the road to rust. I mean, the clips work yes, but its much more ideal when the car was new. The holes were already there with OEM paint and epoxy inside and out. The clips were brand new and the skirts were new and fit like gloves.

Which brings me to: if they don't fit absolutely flawlessly - and you clip them on - you're going to see gaps or have a clip failure where there's tension against it.

Properly done panel bond from 3M or lord fusor (even pro form.....) will be stronger, with no holes, and less hassle.
