Hey man, where are you from? I'm from Midwest USA, and I'm in the same situation, only I have an FC3S and have even less money. =)
I dont know how you live, but everyone keeps nagging me about the money I spend on my car because it's still a work in progress and doesn't show all the hard labor I put in it. I would suggest to do the bare minimum when you pull and rebuild the engine. Try to keep it exactly the same while only doing minor mods, or mods to the internals. After you break in the new engine and get all the bugs worked out, then I would suggest doing extensive modification. Myself, the engine in my car is perfectly fine internally so I am modding a lot of stuff, like getting a standalone ecm, and etc before I finally rebuild it.
