Nice pics Phil, although a bit dark
![]() You said you plan on using the RE manifold on your REW motor? |

are there any proven advantages to the Cosmo RE intake manifold?

Hmore power in the high end, but you lose some torque in the lows I believe.

I believe it is the opposite. The 20b and 13bre were both found in the larger luxury car the cosmo. The motor was more tuned for torque in that application. It had larger intake ports and runners, but smaller exhaust ports. They do flow better than the 13brew manifolds however.

Interesting, I’ve never really thought about it before, but your two responses got me thinking. I’ve always “heard” the RE intake manifold increased low end torque, but that does go against conventional wisdom when compared to the REW intake. Generally increasing the intake runner length increases low end torque. Unfortunately they are not a direct comparison as the RE intake does have larger primary runners and the parabolic chamber. I guess there is no way of knowing for sure without testing.
I nominate Phil as the guinea pig to test it out ![]() Dan |

I don't think the runners are on the RE are longer. The manifold does have more capacity however.

I have a set of RE manifolds waiting to be tested Dan..This summer I will dyno using both and let everyone know. Too bad I have to run two different fuel systems..At least the secondary rail
![]() Who knows though maybe Phil will beat me to the task. However I am expecting more top-end power and a better power curve..turbo undecided ![]() Quote:

I do not believe runner lenght has much affect on turbo cars as they do not have to rely on intake dynamics to make power. They are forced fed.

I'd be interested to see someone who has access to a dyno, test one manifold, uninstall it and put the other on and test again in the same day to get an accurate comparison.

You can't really run cosmo lim on the REW short block without port matching. Ports on the REWs are about 20% smaller.. I'll post some pics later..
So, that being said.. in order to take advantage of RE LIM you need to port match the LIM to REW.
