Its a good time financially, bad time work wise! Do I need to register if I just come down for the weekend?

Since it is an "open to the public" place you surely can come and ride around for the weekend. The things you'll miss out on are all of the festivities going on ... game events, dinners, raffle prizes, t-shirts, discounts.... It'll be a lot like DGRR (only RX8's).
