Crank pulley issues

Sounds like a plan, but...

I'd still worry on WHY you ended up with this problem in the first place???
Over-tension the belts?
Misalignment?

Even if you fix it this time, will it happen again?

I was thinking the same thing... Of the two, I'm pretty sure over-tensioning the belts isn't the cause, since I keep my belts tensioned to the loose side of the stock specs, and am pretty anal about that. I'll have to post up pictures later of the dissembled pulleys, and that steel ring insert. There was LOTS of rust growing on the underside of that steel ring insert, which is the last thing on under the M6 bolt heads. Looks like what might have happened is the steel ring grew thicker in spots due to corrosion; the space taken up by the rust may have put excess tension on the bolts, and they eventually failed. Once the first bolt failed, the pulleys would have misaligned a bit, accelerating the destruction process.

BTW, I just killed a 1/2 breaker bar (aided by a 3' length of iron pipe) trying to get that effin bolt off! First time I've ever broken a breaker bar, but not too surprising since it was a Horror Freight tool...
