Hmm, well I'd say the regulator would be a good place to start. There's not many things that would lower the pressure significantly other then the pump (its possible, but I've never seen a bad one) the regulator really.
Tough call. But with greyish oil, I'd be addressing this sooner rather then later.....ideally immedeatly rather then sooner
