STS is now ST, STS2 is now STS, and SM2 is now SSM. This change takes effect for the 2009 season of SCCA sanctioned events.
As for PAX, smaller regions still allow for entering 2 classes, both the base class, and an open PAX class.
The PAX index is supposed to take the cars potential out of the picture, but the newest number have NA RX7's and Miata's is a "Faster" class than the turbo versions of the same cars. Pure silliness.
