Hey guys, finally got something thrown together. Not the greatest work, but still worth a look I think. Starts out with footage of a Skyline chasing me up the mountain, and ends with me following orion84gsl. Great roads!

No pics of my car... I don't even think killboy got any shots either. Well, it wasn't really photo worthy any way.

My pleasure You East guys had me surprised with all the hi class build and reping all generations of rotary @ this event.. I have shared my impression of the event with my southern cali guys and it still seem impossible to have an event like DGRR here in Cali.

^Considering that you guys have SevenStock, I wouldn't think it would be impossible. Of course you'd have to find a legendary curvy road, but I doubt that would be hard either haha.

I vow to drive to SevenStock one of these years too.

It's called LIABILITY and we all know that there are WAAYY too many attorneys in Sourthern Cal who would love to jump on event organizers if anything ever went wrong.

I think the only way it would happen at Sevenstock is if it were organized by individuals independent of the SoCal club or any other Sevenstock organizers. Even then, you're opening yourselves up for a ton of bad press (not to mention the liability) if anything were to happen and the news choppers started flying over the scene to broadcast how those damn "street racers" were at it again. Just not worth the risk in most people's opinions. I think what Phil and his group have going at DGRR is awesome. I just hope that some unfortunate event beyond their control doesn't happen and shut the event down. It all comes down to individual owners having fun, but driving responsibly as well and not over their heads. That IS one good thing about having cars in a caravan. It keeps people from getting TOO crazy. Anyway, sorry for this little diversion. Back to pics!!

^That's a good point. I forgot Cali laws and officers usually suck balls. Dragon has taken quite a few lives already, so it's not like bad things haven't happened. It's just that the cops realize the rotary folks are generally a good group and don't cause alot of trouble, and therefore don't get their panties in a wad. You guys are right, it will probably never happen for Cali, and that sucks. At least you have SevenStock though.

Sure we have SS in cali but, it's a completely different flavor event. SS is more like show and tell more than anything else. Don't mistake there is no other event like SS, attendees are in the thousands.

DGRR event in cali would be impossible in the sense that having any amount cars gathered would create such stupid attention from the local LAW. It would not be enjoyable.

Oh I definitely hear ya. I was thinking about how bad I wanna go to SS, but I've also thought "so all they do is sit around and look at each others cars? No driving is involved?" So I hear you.

Hmmm, may I suggest everyone on the west side trek to the beautiful mountain roads of Colorado? Haha. I'm sure I can find a road that is close to as good as the Dragon. We've already hit several of them. However, I'm not sure how the law enforcement would respond yet. Maybe we could just try it for ourselves and see how it goes. We have had cruises through the mountains with a REALLY long caravan and no one stopped us, but it wasn't just rotaries.

Oh this kills me!!! Don't get me wrong we have our fair share of beautiful roads out here in Southern Cali and plenty of track events back to back weekends. Once in a while we plan cruises for the rotary community but, nothing like DGRR. For some reason it seems more Free/natural/better.
