Yeah I wouldn't worry too much about the mileage with regards to side seals bedding into that iron.
Biggest thing IMO with fresh items like irons and housings (or bearings) would be getting a few heat cycles into the part(s) before laying down the law. Best of luck bro, we should have a rebuild race!
