Actually you'll be safer running meth/water because it will richen up the mixture, but just water is fine because it suppresses knock more.

You can test and see if it works by jumping the pump and taking the nozzle out and spray in a bucket or something. Or if it's set to come out at a certain psi hook and an air compressor up on low psi and see if it cuts on. You can also measure how long it takes to completely empty the tank and see if the nozzle size is what you expected. Or if you want to drive it you can look at your IATs and they should drop fairly quickly if it comes on and then you let off the gas and coast or cruise for 5-10sec. There are multiple ways to test if it works you just have to get a little creative.
