That is a nice ride! (I can identify with the Automatic issues).
It seems that everyone that has a heavily modified RX7 also has a stock one. I am not a psychologist, but I think that after a person actually gets some power out of the car, they realize that the gutlessness (and the ability to continuously abuse the car with complete mechanical and law-related impunity) was at least part of what they like about the car. I know I love trying to blow the automatic up in my '91. I almost never get a chance to stand on the '86. Anyway, welcome to the club! I can see the smile on your car's face over that long stretch of Nevada road directly behind it.
