i thought the gsl and the se rears were the same other than the bolt pattern?

I am pretty sure they are very similar. I believe they share the same bearings and seals. The GSL-SE comes with LSD (once again, I think), but then again, so does a GSL. Also, both are standard with disc brakes.
I would trust a solid axle rear end to hold up to the power before I would trust an NA diff vs. a TII, but I am a gambler!!!!

The only diff between a GSL and SE rear IIRC is GSL's are 3.90 and SE's are 4.08 and the bolt pattern difference, I believe the strength is about the same.
