New gauges and CF dash pod installed in my NA FC
Here we have the CF dash pod from retro-spec, fresh out of its box.
![]() ![]() ![]() Now, after cutting two 'roughly' 2inch holes with a dremel (there were supplied dimples for centering pods btw) I installed the Prosport Oil pressure and Oil Temperature gauges, also opted to use the supplied hoods. ![]() ![]() ![]() And finally, installed with some night shots (sorry bout the blur) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

They look nice. Grab some pics minus the photographer with Parkinson's.

Do your prosport gauges sit at zero when not on? Have you verified that they are accurate, I have read that some people have had issues with them. Not flaming just curious because I have them as well and haven't installed them yet. Hoping they have fixed that problem.

Yes, both gauges sit at zero when the car IS off, my stock oil pressure gauge sits well below the "0" mark so I know its also wrong. But looking today my pressure rises up to about 70-75 psi under full throttle near redline, and ive seen m yoil temp reach about 165'F during a long spirited highway venture on the way home from work, temps outisde being near to the low 90's.
But so far my only issue with either the pod or the gauges is the slight glare/mirror effect they have during the day, theres no direct light shining off them into my eyes, but they also act like small dome mirrors you find on regular mirrors sometimes. I think that issue may resolve itself with the addition of window tint when im ready for that. And yes Rob, Ill be taking 'better' pictures of the night shots with a less shaky hand as im still not used to the camera. |

Improved night time pictures!!!!
![]() ![]() ![]() The pod itself was about $200 shipped, and the gauges were about $100 shipped for the pair (something like 40-50 for each gauge and all electric with sending units). The sending units for both gauges are installed in a Re-Speed oil filter pedestal adapter. Pod is currently only 3M taped in place, but Im probably going to place some screws into it, albeit sparingly, just to make sure its not going anywhere. |

ask around. No limitind is going to be working on a FG dash, if things go well then they may work on earlier models.
All you have to do is ask. Your idea may be so cool that others will want it and then you get what you want. Make a thread in the lounge and get interest going.

Yeah, I bought this pod from a guy out in Cali, though IIRC there IS a similar pod made for FD's thats more like mickey mouse ears with one pod on each side, which I would have been happy with as well. But since this pod DID manage to also cover the demister opening it gave me a solution for running wires without drilling holes and covered an unsightly hole, now I just need a corresponding CF piece to sit in the other vent hole.

RotaryXperiment- I think he offers it in both CF and fiberglass, you would just have to specify I think.
Low Impedance- Fitment is ok, 3M tape holds it suprisingly well, though I used more than was nescessary I think. If you have a nigh perfect dash in that area (as in its not peeling away from the gauge hood) then fitment should be perfect and the tape would be everything you need. But in my case Ill have to add a few screws to make it sit perfectly as my dash is peeling up near the stock gauge hood, and even though I didnt want screws in my dash, at this point in the project idea's, it might actually fit in to have a few discreet screws holding it down. oh hell found the link to the website. http://www.shop.retro-spec.net/categ...?categoryId=11 Though dont expect FAST service, I think I waited a month or two for it, though it had to be made from start to finish since he didnt have any ready to sell.
