M98 are cock on open, but that's not a M98... my '95 7mm mauser chileno is "cock on close" and in the reply after mine he states that yes it is. Its a weaker design that the '98 model corrected. Still, I fired mine a couple months ago and it was pretty sweet, not quite as loud as my 30-06, but plenty powerful. you just shouldn't use overpowered loads in the '95 actions.

The bolt looks the same as my M98, plus this rifle is an 8mm not a 7. The M95 has a straight bolt. It also reads like he was saying "yes it is" worth more than what he was asking. Either way it's all moot since the gun has long been since sold.
