i just realized i didnt really answer your question. the tape or remove thing kinda comes down to what it is. like door handles and exterior trim pieces MUST be removed if you want the best quality possible. It would have been easier to remove the harness but in my case i didnt have time to do it be for i got it in the shop sooo.... aluminum foil was my friend

Gotcha, yeah I always remove things that can be removed. The harness is easy, takes only a few minutes, the AC lines and such as well, just curious why you tapes instead fo removed.

ya i hear ya. i really would have liked to take EVERYTHING out of the bay but when i got it in the body shop my instructor didnt really want me to mess with it just cause of a possible mess. i.e. brake mc making a mess. and i wasnt sure about how in depth taking that harness would be so i left it in. ill post the rest of those pics after i get off work. and FINALLY ill be spraying my door jams and engine bay tomorrow. i know ive been talkin about it for a while now but it is going to happen in the morning.

i finish painting the jams today. here about a half hour actually. (ill post pics tonight) and then ill sand down the rest of the body and i should be spraying the bumpers, wing and the body at the same time.. i m guessing next week.

so quick update.. nothin to exciting. i got the body block sanded today. first with 220 then with 320 and then 500 on a DA. i am gonna have to spot prime a couple places but it shouldnt be a big deal. ill post a couple pics tomorrow of the spots. should be in paint next week. turns out im gettin screwed on my taxes this year so i wont be able to get my coilovers just yet... . hopefully within the next month or so.
