RICE RACING will become famous soon enough
This is an example of how to do it on a ghetto ECU from my mate Frank Profera > http://www.lotussport.org/viewtopic....4508&start=240

I prefer WM50 fluid, but the idea and concept and reality is the same so far as consumption, integration, engine performance.

I am using the exact same ghetto spec ECU in my FD... They may have had their issues in the past, but they have learned from it and created a very good product this time around (for what it is, its not trying to be a LR unit).

Yeah that is good to hear that they are better now, everything has its place for sure.

I have been testing many ECU's lately, the current one I have surplus for sale in the FD section, its a PECTEL MQ-12, in custom control ways this is better than the Life Racing F90.

^All over the place^, lots of contacts across the globe so I get allot of stuff, mostly for testing and the persuit of knowledge so then I can talk about it from personal experience perspective........... its my job, so I am always testing out new items, lots of them 'top shelf'

Cost is relative
I learned long ago: A cheap item is a total loss, providing life long frustration + pain V's the temporary initial shock of the costs associated with the highest quality items.

I've never ever regretted buying a top spec item, always been able to use it, enjoy it, then after its served its time, sold it off to others who wanted it, if you look at the whole life cycle of the purchse, the high expense items deserve the consideration as they are a WIN/WIN proposition, v's the low spec shit (plethora of shit!) that are worthless as soon as you take delivery

Quality costs! and its cheaper long term + much MUCH more enjoyable and worth while

SO, SO True!! about 10 years ago i used to be ok with buying off-brand or "good enough" products. Now, after tens of thousands of dollars wasted (i'm a slow learner, lmao) I only buy new or top shelf for my specific application. very rarely do i buy used, if it can be avoided.

I still have the habit like us all to never pay retail and buy shit on the cheap, but must be high quality item or 'top shelf'.

The car ECU thing is a classic.
People go 'fuck man' you have a mega buck ECU.......... but forget that extreme example for a second, you look in my ECU thread for example of units that only cost ~$4500 Life Racing F88 (for example).

You buy *one* unit and it does everything.
Data Logger
AFR Measure
Boost Control
Engine
Gearbox
Traction Control
Ignition System

You go add up all of that shit + ghetto enable codes LOL (some shit brands) and even wehn buying ghetto, you get to the price of top shelf, only difference is you still have a turd of a system all interconnected with scotch locks and cable ties LOL.

Sometimes (and this comes with age) you just need to take a step back and think, and spend the ca$h once and you do end up with much better solutions and better value long term.

Sure high quality costs initially, but ironically it is cheaper long term, and a fuck load better all the way through

That's a good article to read, it's a shame they're limiting the f1 cars next year too 3.5 bar and fuel limits too. Not really going to be developing any new technologies on that front to filter down too the road car market are they.

Any progress with your car Peter?

F1 will learn many things to make things more efficient and that is good either way it means more power.

My car is Don Mega Crazy but not for open sharing here till I progress on to the next developments. Those next levels will commence next year and then I'll post up all this old stuff from this year for people to copy.

Hold on.. you wait until you have actual results before you give people advice? That's not how rx7 forums work.

Almost there, but it's about 2 steps further on before the old redundant advice is shared @ that time I am about 2 levels further advanced, most people are working still with information I openly published about 6 levels ago lol.......

Some as you elude too have no such ability as they have in most times not developed anything at all themselves and only have a few shitty posts full of hype and themselves and live out a public nightmare full of blocked fuel filters and a litany of hockey pucks and broken pardigm shifts LOL.
