I actually had great luck, my car left in much better shape then when I headed to the dragon in the first place.
The 12+ hour drive revitalized my flat Odyssey battery. When I left the starter wouldn't turn at all (even after charging for ~4 hours), and when running if I put on the brakes the radio would shut off. By the time I made it to NC the battery works like new, which I thought was impossible for a dry cell. Also on the drive down my boost pattern was 10-0-0, Dale was able to replace a faulty check valve on the spot for me and I had perfect working twins the rest of the trip. Hurray!

Had to bang in a rear wheel fender edge so it didn't continue to jab into my $475 Michelin PS2 but other than that, no problems. G had enough of them for us all
Tell them about the importance of using the key to prevent wheel lock if you hotwire the car!

I actually ended up in better shape than I started.
All the way down there, and the whole time I was playing around on the Dragon, I had a bad ignition breakup issue (I thought). I found that the negative terminal (the clamp part on the end of the cable) had split, and was making only intermittent contact. Drove a screw into that to tighten the connection, but didn't seem to help much. About halfway home it occurred to me that I had never opened up the fuel pressure regulator after installing the motor the previous weekend. Once I had enough fuel going to my poor starving Sterling, holy shit! I hadn't driven the car since last fall, so I hadn't realized I was that far down on hp. Wish I had found that out before running the Dragon, but I still had plenty of fun. I took a twisty route home, so finally made it after 16 hours of solid driving. I only spent about 20 minutes on an interstate, all the rest was backroads through NC, TN, Kentucky, Indiana, and Michigan. ![]() Oh, and that fb with the torn up rear end, I think the screename is DJ55B. I was eating dinner on the patio when he got if fixed and started giving out rides. Listening to him run up and down that road was impressive. As Billy put it later that night, that car is WICKED fast. Wish I could have taken a ride. I only got a chance to take one passenger through the Dragon this year though. Duffman, what did you think? .

Rotarywall (EDD) blew his engine just making it into the drive way in Savannah. Thinks he cracked his rear iron. Kevin, that was the guy in the Turbo II that stayed at Holly's with us. He's at the bottom of a bottle right now, so Im posting for him.

Barry;s FD was shod with Falken RT-615Ks. We had periodically checked tire pressures since his tires were fairly new and low mileage.
About half way to New Orleans, the left rear inner sidewall failed (multiple bubbles/bumps) on about 1/3 of the inner sidewall. Instant flat was the result. A can of Flat Fix fixed the resulting leak, but the tire was now out of round. Thus a slow slightly bumpy ride back. |

Just had time to finally check out my blown motor... All three faces on front rotor are dead and testing with a piston compression tester shows about 58PSI all faces on the rear rotor.
![]() Pulling it out now!
