The carter is an off the shelf at the local auto parts store not sure what model, but it doesn't make the dreadful loud buzzing sound my Holley Red pump made!! The Dell already has an upper manifold I just don't have a lower for the 12A. I'm not really sure what direction I want to go with it. The dell looks sweet and performs well im sure, my dad had a repu back when I was a kid with a S5 n/a with the dell and exhaust it seemed fuckin fast ...

Time to get that garage dirty you are taking after Bill too much on the cleanliness, be a man get stuff dirty make lots of grunting noise and mark your territory :)
I don't know which carb would be best its a toss-up since people have had good luck with each set-up and equal amounts have had bad luck, my opinion would be the Dellorto since it has been run on a rotary before and may be easier to tune but will cost more for jets than the holley |

BTW you need to get up here and hang out, take some parts for powder coating and lend me those wheels Please :hurray: |
Maybe this weekend I can head over to see the new place

Should be able to, just let me know when & if you all are getting to together. It would be good to meet some of the guys form the forum.

I think Sat is supposed to rain early now. I've got to run up to Dulles for some parts/supplies and then I'll be back around 2-3. Got a guy coming to look at the '87 as well. I could have him meet me at your place if needed though, lol.
As for the carbs. I personally prefer holley, but the dellorto is a good system too. As MC said, you'll probably spend a bit more on the jets and tuning the carb. If you go that route, I would place a quick call to RB and see what jets they recommend/sell for a stock port 12A. Keep the old jets out of the carb for future builds. Holley jets are cheap and you can pick 'em up at Boyd's in town. Same w/ squirters... I need to finish up the first wheel and then I can start on the rest. You still picking up your engine on Sat? |

Don't encourage him, lol. Its not hard to swap that FMOC on later and the behive is sufficient for a stock ported/mildly modified 12A, lol.. Besides, LE's didn't have FMOC!! :) |

The guy I know with the turbo Miata is Craig Hunnicut. He's a younger cat, good guy though.
|
That name sounds familiar actually... at some point we'll all need to get together. Maybe I'll throw together a meet/show in the summer, its been a while since we've done one..

Neither did my '84 GS, but dammit its getting one. The insane heat in the summer here almost warrants it, even on a BONE stock rotary. I'm using an FC cooler :) Just saying. |

On another note, honestly... the behive isn't that bad. Is the FMOC better? Absolutely. Necessary on a stock 12A - not really. Plenty of those little guys have helped those 12As make it to 200K+ miles... Really, I'm just picking on Chris here about it :) |
oh, and is your wiring harness done yet :)

All in all, nothing really matter except what YOU want to do! All I know, is all these bastard cars better be at DGRR. |
We can run out there this weekend if you want. I want to pull that sunroof and door handle too, lol. I'd really like to yank that extra S4 engine but kinda stuck on room right now.
I'm bringing my RX8 to DGRR again this year. Thought about bringing the '87 but not sure it would survive, lol. |
