I'll be in OH this weekend for Easter, then DGRR next weekend. If you can get the wiring finished by May 7th, we can drop the engine in that weekend.

So got a little progress done today!! In effort to keep this car rust free I put a nice coat of POR 15 in the rear fender wells. I am going to follow up with a coat of roll on bed liner.

Thats it on pics? I got more pics than that, lol....
You're putting the engine in this weekend? I'm out on Saturday but Sunday I can probably lend a hand. You still gotta get that trans cleaned up! |
Looks good so far now you have to get that sucker back on the engine tight. I see you want to put the engine back but I still have't seen any wiring pics yet.
I don't know if I can make it or not it seems like I'm going back to work all the time moneys good but gets old sometimes, I just got home now after a call-back and will be getting up in a few hours to start over again. |
Bah - you ended having to go in? That sucks...
Chris, will you have your parts by this weekend to get the engine in? You'll have to place the order probabaly Thurs/Friday to get it in time. If not, I have an extra seal laying around, lol... |
Yeah... the H2O softener drain rusted off and had water everywhere it was already shut down but still leaking bad and the valves were not holding so the system did without water for a while and changed out a 3" cast iron gate valve in about 35 min and back online with the standby units. will be calling the welder in the am.
|
Figured I would ad some more pictures to this project. Rear wheel wells are now protected with a coat of POR-15 and two coats of spray in bed liner.

Yay pics! Motor is getting cleaner each time. Now you gotta get the front fenders done, lol.
Next weekend would work for dropping the engine back in too. |
Yep, its a work in progress! I'm verry happy with the way it looks.. After seeing the rear it makes me want to do something with the front..
|
The rear looks great if you want to do anything to the front try wiring everything back up and get everything ready to put the engine back in

Seriously though. Its taken me three days to put a radiator in, lol. This is what happens. You start on one little thing and then you notice another thing and then another... it never ends!! I talked to your car's twin this morning too :) |
My cars twin??? which car???
Don't feel bad about the radiator I haven't got squat done this week I can't seem to stay away from work and home long enough to do much. I was at work again this past Sat. morning its good money and I can't turn it down but its making things slower than normal for me. |
Chris' car's twin.
I plan to get some work done this week though and hopefully we'll be getting the heart back in this LE... |
Ok, so motor didnt make it in yet..But I did get the rear put back together and its on its wheels now! Need to finish cleaning the motor and get it in!!! Someone come help motovate me to finish this! I have cold BEER....
|
Do you actually have cold beer? Let put it in on Thursday night, lol....
We should bring the engine over to JBAM's shop and clean it up good. |
YES I have some ice cold BL Lime...Sounds like a good idea, I was thinking about putting it in the back of the escape and taking it over there.
|
Actually, that may not work... need to see if he's in culpeper this weekend during nights.. he's been working at the other store for this week. Either way, I can probably slide by Thursday night and see what we can get done...
|

Thought I'd throw up a pic of a nicely blasted stock manifold. It's just amazing how well a 25+ year old cast part will clean up.
|
Port matched intake runners and cleaned gasket surface.
Need more pics of the rest of the build man, lol... http://www.findtuners.com/FBs/chris_...ake_ported.jpg |
So many changes to this project and still no updates??? HMMMMM.....

|
I'm just excited to see you get this done. There just aren't that many clean FBs around much and it will be good to see another example running around town.
once you get it running and I finish the refinish on the wheels it will be one slick ride. You and MC will have Jekyll and Hyde lol... |
