Is it dual pass?

2gslse 03-15-2012 03:00 PM

Looks great sitting there but it will look better in a RUNNING car lol...
Now get back in there and wire everything up.

BTW... is there a bung for low coolant light/buzzer? not a big deal just asking, mine won't work when everything is done either since it will be a v-mount if it gets that low it is a major issue.

It does not have a bung for that sensor..hmmm I dont know how big of a deal that is?? I plan on running a electric fan with thermostat control

Looks like it is a dual pass. the inlet and outlet are on the same side and the tube run horizontally so it goes all the way across and back to the outlet, there will be a division in the tank with the inlet and outlet.

its not a big deal really, just have to ground the wire to the chassis to shut it up.

WE3RX7 03-15-2012 04:14 PM

Is there a weld in the middle of the tanks, usually on the side that's polished...

That buzzer is insane.. Pretty sure there will be some left over wire to use to ground it out. That is if of course Chris can pinpoint which wire it is that goes to the coolant buzzer :)

Yeah, time for him to stop posting and start working. summer is right around the corner and DGRR is soon just in case he could make it.

TIC-TOC...:hurray:

I'm still :toetap05: for mine

WE3RX7 03-15-2012 07:54 PM

Him posting is probably my fault... I keep harrassing him. I need more pics, lol...

Had enough out of you! :o21: Mr. Apexi powerd FD..Mr Apexi powered FB and a sweet RX-8!!! I only got to spend $700 bucks and I still dont have everything I need....

2gslse 03-16-2012 09:54 AM

Tic-Toc

at least you are making progress on your car. you are within a few days labor of driving around again and not much money. My car will have 400+HP if all goes right but the boost settings will make go from lots of fun (low boost) to replace axle/ call a wrecker mode(high boost).
Still don't think deals is a possibility?

WE3RX7 04-23-2012 02:15 PM

Here's some ideas for mounting on the radiator and the coils:

Well its been a while and a hard year for me, but hey that's what life is a bunch of ups and downs...I got back into the garage over this past weekend after a few months of not even looking at my car. And I feel like I made progress even though I took more crap apart..So little back story this car sat at my parents for a few years while I did nothing to it, and when I got back to it realized it had some visitors of the furry four legged variety. So needless to say I found some things and smells that are not good to find in your beloved RX7. So here are some updated pictures!!

OK time to say it..

Stop dragging your feet and put it back together enough to hear it start and run. at this rate we won't be able to buy fuel anymore but it will look good sitting in the garage:lol:

JK man I know why it had to come out but I would like to see it run this year.

Geez cant ever catch a break with you..it will run this year! Billy and I are hashing out my exhaust issues..i need your old wheels and a cat please :302:
Oh and another thing your nice rew swap looks good but should have at least cleaned your bay lol

2gslse 06-23-2012 10:48 PM

I almost had a cat tonight but I don't see how a dead cat will help you with the exhaust :)

I think all my old cats were welded together but we can have a look, they certainly wont work for me anymore.

WE3RX7 06-24-2012 11:57 AM

I told MC if I had free time I would have snuck over there this weekend and finished her up, lol...

one320fc 04-11-2013 11:35 AM

Well its time to make my way back to page 1 even though I dont think its near as nice as wizbangs rally FB or some of the others! This weekend Virginia has seemed to finally catch a break with the weather no snow or below 30s!! Billy is headed over saturday and at that point should have Holley rebuilt installed, Radiator installed rest of coolant system done, fuel system done! put some fresh gas and oil in and fire it up! Open header which should make for some fun!

WE3RX7 04-11-2013 12:19 PM

Won't be total open header if I can get the ypipe done and find a cat somewhere....

You know its kinda funny you say that, I was half tempted to tell Billy not to ask you if you had one cause you would show up on Saturday with a furry 4 legged cat with a 2 1/2" exhaust pipe up its rear :uhh: That new GSLSE you guys have should have some spare parts you wont need for chump car, and I bet there is a exhaust pipe on it I can use :hurray:

WE3RX7 04-12-2013 08:16 AM

Its not a new GSLSE, lol.. it's one of MC's other parts cars.. you know, like the kind you find when walking through the woods! Probably wont start taking anything off that for some time now as we need to finish the RX3 first. LeMons will be next year at the earliest.

We'll get your exhaust done up the 'ole fashion way. If we remember, I can steal the muffler section off the car on Saturday and use it as a template for the new one...

That carb ready??

WE3RX7 04-14-2013 08:33 AM

What no update? My update on this project is that I am now sunburned pretty good and have earned the redneck trophy of the season!

We did manage to get the starter installed, radiator mocked up, some of the wiring routed, carb installed and a quick compression test. The compression test started really well, but then the starter began giving out. There is an extra one there to swap out next time.

Next step is to get the ignition wired up, prime the carb and make some fire!

WE3RX7 04-14-2013 05:50 PM

Photo of the project right now (minus the radiator and battery)...

https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...41422793_n.jpg

Also, started on the y-pipe for the exhaust. The car is utilizing a road race style header so a simple y-pipe to collect right before the catalytic converter needs to be made. The rest of the exhaust will be a custom 2.5" catback... should sound pretty good when it's done.

Hope I'm not stepping on your toes Chris by posting this stuff up...

WE3RX7 04-28-2013 07:36 PM

Thought I'd toss these up to share... almost done with the custom y-pipe and mid section exhaust for this car.

Was planning to mock it up before final welding, but since it'll have to be cut to length for the resonator, it doesn't really matter. I mocked it based on other exhaust parts laying around so it should be ok. One320fc... we working on the car this upcoming weekend still? Provided the baby hasn't come yet..

one320fc 07-11-2013 06:53 PM

Yup should have some on Saturday I have the car and tools so you get to bring the beer!!

WE3RX7 07-11-2013 07:07 PM

I'll bring champagne if it we finish up the ignition and can fire it up!
