this is the same for both the leading and trailing?

did you check the fuse in the engine compartment?

maui_boi 09-08-2008 02:08 PM

yea for both not giving

yea and the fuses are good

i also just changed the spark plugs

Whizbang 09-08-2008 02:14 PM

hmm...well i would then assume that you have no signal too the coils. BUT i would check that as well. Just use a voltmeter and see if you are getting signal to the coils or not.

If not, i would then pursue what can affect cutting the ignition. Without my FSM stuff handy (at work) i dont want to speculate, but i have a similiar problem that is caused by a loose wire in the harness. Generally i just move the harness around and its fine for a few days. Not sure what it is, but it would lend me to believe there is a component that can kill the ignition signal.

does your tach work while cranking? ie does it bounce due to the starter cranking the engine?

maui_boi 09-08-2008 02:20 PM

no the tach dosent bounce

Whizbang 09-08-2008 02:22 PM

so you have NO tach movement at all then right?

maui_boi 09-08-2008 02:24 PM

nope but my cluster does work though

Whizbang 09-08-2008 02:25 PM

okay. i think we have a similiar issue going on, only your is more permanent.

let me look over some wiring diagrams tonight, ill get back to you tomorrow on this.

I always throw in the "Check your main relay" advice.

Check your CAS (Crank Angle Sensor) and make sure everything is plugged in/perfect.

What have you done so far?

Check out this thread (READ IT ALL) and then check out the post about the TPS and ECU Code tester (post #7):

This one also has a GREAT Article on the FC's Ignitions systems.

maui_boi 09-09-2008 07:19 PM

im thinking it could be the ignition because when i bought it the guy had put in a push start button and dosent turn with the key

Phoenix7 09-09-2008 07:26 PM

why didn't you say that from the beginning then?

GO back and check his work and make sure ignition works.

You can even go ONE better and take a video, post it on youtube and show us.

Just add RotaryCarClub in the video description while you're at it.

my ignition works cause my main relay clicks
