Gas mileage, what you getting?
In my '89 GTU, (S5 mild port n/a, with RB mufflers an presilencer, emission's removed, AC components removed, aux sleeves an actuating rods removed, vdi open, heat-shielded cone air filter, 1/2oz. per gallon premix.) usually the range is from 18-25 MPG.
But with the latest tank, I got 27.6 MPG! Which is the highest I experienced in this car. On a regular day, the breakdown is probably... With city driving, I get about 18-20 mpg. Hwy & city, I get 20-22 mpg. Out of town RX7 meet or out of town trip, I get 22-25 mpg. But the latest tank I did, out of town trip, and hwy & city driving. Averaging 70 mph on the hwy. And got 27.6 mpg. Someday...30mpg...someday. ![]()
