Question Basic logicon to digital logicon swap

So has anyone where ever done this with success? I am going to be attempting it, but i dont want to mangle my wiring harness without knowing what i am doing first as its a rhd s5 harness and will NOT be cheap to replace!

What do you guys know about this swap? Easy? Hard? Worth it?

If you're talking about the JDM stocker digital logicon then I've only heard of it being done once on the 7 club and the person was referencing someone else doing it and had no clue how. The only thing they said was that it was very difficult and needed some sensors or something that don't come on the USDM cars. However, that's basically heresay.

No, that's basically the gist of it.
The hard part is getting a hand on that remote temp sensor.
I dunno if it's possible to run everything without that temp sensor, of if the digital unit just barfs due to no sensor?

It's going to be a lot of wire splicing, since the plugs are not even close to being identical in dimensions.

What's interesting is that 7 owners, we do all sorts of crazy shit with the engine, yet when it comes to mods like the digital logicon, we give up and say it's too hard.

Honda and Nissan owners on the other hand, thrive on mods like this, and from what I've read, for them it isn't much easier to do.

I just wanted to put this out there....

Priorities.... I would conclude us rotorheads are more concerned with how our cars drive than how they look, hence we don't waste too much of our time and cash on mods that are essentially cosmetic.

We have better taste than they do.

Basically what others have said...

I can get the JDM FSM.
I can read most of the diagrams, and anything else that I can't decipher, I can get translated very easily.
Electrical work is my forte.
It's just the matter of putting in the time and effort to do this.

My old, stock turbo has been spewing oil for a while now.
I just swapped in a hybrid just to take care of the smoking exhaust.
...retune Haltech.
...add bigger fuel pump.
...retune Haltech.

Yes, I've got other things that take priority right now in my life.

Wouldn't mind having one myself, but I don't see myself ever having the patience to install it.

On a side note in this thread, I have a jdm s5 and a jdm s4. The s4 has the digital climate control and my s5 does not. Would it be possible for me to put everything for the climate control from the s4 into the s5, or its it just not worth doing? I'm selling the s4 in the near future

I guess what I'm trying to get at, is the attitude that it's "impossible".

Nothing is impossible. It's just a lot of things aren't worth putting the time into.

Or just get a digi dash and a stand alone? That's my plan anyways.
