if your looking into owning an FD RX7 or really any rotary car your best bet is to learn AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE about them first. Having a friend with one is a great start because your friend can likely tell you how expensive and demanding a car they can be. Being an older car and one that requires so much maintainance expect to be replacing stuff quite a bit, and lots of shit breaking. Many people spend more time with their RX7 down than actually driving they say on the forums but I also believe that is because so many pick these up without really knowing what they are or that they will be an expensive car to have. In the pursuit of making my FD reliable and powerful ive invested about 19k in parts alone for a build thats going on right now, granted i've also spent on quality parts but havent gone for as expensive parts as some do. The up side to these cars is they are a blast to drive and when they are running right its amazing. Ive owned an STi with 20k in mods and an R32 GTR Skyline and I still think the FD RX7 is the most fun car ive driven hence the reason im back in one. Reliability mods are a must.
