Just start with the basic tuneup items, and chances are you will solve your issues.

Distributor cap and rotor
Spark plugs (use NGK, not Nippon Denso)
Fuel filter (very important)
Air filter
Spark plug wires if they look older

Also, verify that you have spark on all four spark plugs. Ignition issues are a major cause of low power, but easily corrected.

Run a can of Seafoam through the gas tank.

When you are ready to look at performance mods, here is the route I took (check out my videos in my signature link to get an idea of what these will produce):

1. Racing Beat exhaust system (about the only RB product I will recommend, and only because there really isn't any other bolt on option).
2. Sterling carb: www.sterlingmetalworks.com
3. Suspension upgrades from www.re-speed.com
