My son's friend owns a Honda tuning shop here in Phoenix and bought a container of Honda motors about 12 years ago from Japan. When the container arrived in Long Beach, one of the items in the shipment was an Amemiya full exhaust (damaged but still useable). The exhaust was for sale for more than 10 years in their shop, but had no takers due to the damage. I inquired about it last month and dug it out of their parts pile in the back of their building.
We contacted Amemiya last week and they confirmed that it is indeed one of their "Gravity Mufflers" from the 1995 timeframe. One of their early attempts at what has become their signature "Dolphin Tail" exhaust. Here's a pic of the Amemiya "muffled" midpipe as well. ![]() |
