does the engine need to be pulled to install this?

It can be installed with the engine in the car. However, I wouldnt expect this to fix a current leak. I have seen people post saying it has fixed their leak but I find that hard to believe. This brace is more designed to prevent leaks. Just trying to be honest. But yes it can be installed with the engine in the car. However, you will have to jack up the engine from the tranny or use and engine hoist to get enough clearance to remove the motor mounts.

I plan to install mine (getting it at DGRR) with the engine in the car. Of course the pan will get dropped, new gasket installed, etc.
