IAN... Ah, ha! How long was trip back for you and John and Brian? Good meeting you guys.

Pete89T2... Good meeting you. Love the car.

Rx Se7evn... Heard you had to stop every few hundred miles? But it got home under its own power unlike mine. Think I spun a bearing.

Supernaut... Were you with Collin on the way back? And, what's the deal on air conditioning?

Gordon

I lost count. Two days probable over 16hours of driving. The trip back seems so long. Especially every year its to rain and no leaves on the tree lol. Nice meeting all of you.... (John got stuck in traffic/construction for hours, Bryon probable cannot hear due to traveling with the windows up and the RX4 is a little loud)

We had a great time again this year, and I think our fellow Nova Scotians enjoyed it too!

Best: Driving the dragon, going to The Mitty, hearing the angels sing when the four-rotor went by on the front straight. Great weather, lots of cool cars, dinner at our cabin and meeting some new friends and seeing some folks we met last year.

Worst: The long drive home - 3 full days, over 1700 miles. Ugh.

By the way, I am writing a story for my local paper about this (I work for the paper in marketing and also freelance for them). I will post a link when it's available.

Hahaha! I hear that Buggy...or I think I do. Mine was the same way cept I only had to drive to and from Texas, straight pipe and a straight through 'muffler' at 4200 RPM will leave your ears ringing.

Best: The ATL Caravan, it was pretty cool seeing that many rotaries crusing down the road.

Worst: Leaving, the weekend always go by so fast. Wish I had more time to hang out with the people I see once or twice a year.

The Best - so many good things!

1 Great Roads
2 Great People
3 Great Cars
4 Winning the FD Clutch that we needed to fix the junk one in the car now
5 Visiting with Brian Smith ( Owner of Rotorsports Racing ) who gave me my first opportunity to work on a Mazda race car
6 Visiting with my old boss ( JIM DOWNING ) at the Mitty
7 Visiting with my engine builder ( RICK ENGMAN ) at the Mitty

The worst

1 Time flies when you're having fun - event was too short
2 Returning home to cold, rainy Indiana where the gas prices are outrageous and the roads are horrible

The Best: The fact that the event happened yet again, and that nobody got hurt.

The Worst: Date conflict with the Mitty so I had to make a choice between the two.

The Mitty was a lot of fun though, but very different from DGRR. Totally different sort of experience. On my way back to Michigan, I just followed the Blue Ridge Mountains back north. Got to run the Skyway, the Dragon, and the Blue Ridge Parkway (for the 1st time) and had a blast just taking my time and enjoying the cruise.

Glad everyone had a good time at DGRR. Wish I could've been there for it...

Best: Always, socializing with some of my old friends, meeting new friends, and driving the 318 curves. The caravan was awesome to Nantahala and to the Mitty.
Worst: Date conflict with the Mitty I didn't want to make a choice between the two, so I attended both, but really wish I could have made the Mitty the other 2 days also. I hope I don't have to split my time between them again.

Yeah, never did get to give you a ride either, that's ok though..... she's WAY faster now that we played with the boost control a little.

May have to start "Deals Gap Former Rotaries Rally" for us dark siders...
One of my best moments was going toe to toe.... or bumper to bumper with a certain LT1 FD and then having the driver say, wait till I'm through with breakin, and me saying, wait till I'm off Wastegate I will eat your silly V8 for breakfast and poop it out on the side of the rd :hugs:

Worst.... the severe lack of sleep! Lets see..... woke up Tuesday and went to work... went to sleep Wednesday around 10..... AM... woke up ~ 1 PM.... wash rinse repeat... sleep Thursday ~10am, woke up 1pm, worked worked worked welded welded left Friday ~ 5:30am, caught a few hr nap in the car sometime on Friday and then on Saturday morning was repacking wheel bearings @ 5am.... then finally 7 hrs sleep on a pool table Sunday morning..... wow.... definately need to get down there WAY earlier next year

Best - The RX7 Support Vehicle! We all must Praise MATT!

There are so many Bests, they can't be listed. The whole event is incredible. It is the highlight of my automotive year and I thank you VERY much Phil for all that you do. Can't wait till next year! I'm definately bringin the Jeep though

Yea I was with him part of the way.

AC? I dunno. People are always so shocked when they find out my AC works. Many people I've met don't even bother trying to fix it or put it back on their cars. I can't live without it.

everything about the area is awesome, everyone there was first class and with a little reserve and a head tap warning from a sport bike rider on saturday i managed to escape ticket free

gonna work very hard to be even more prepared for next year and maybe not be running quite as rich hehehehe
