Piggers - The first questions you need to answer with any turbo upgrade is what are your goals for it, and what is your budget? That will help bound the solution for you. There's more to this than just bolting on a bigger turbo - it won't take long before you need to deal with fuel and engine control issues as well.

I went down the upgrade path last winter, when it was time to replace the worn out stock turbo in my '89T2. The following threads covered the questions I had and responses from this forum, might be worth reading thru:

Bottom line, I installed a BNR Stage 1 turbo, upgraded all 4 fuel injectors with Bosch 720cc injectors, upgraded the fuel pump with a Nippon Denso pump from the mid-90's Supra twin turbo (drop in fit), and sent out the stock ECU for the Rtek 2.x upgrade, which mods the ECU to provide enough fuel/air & spark tunability for my modest goals. Also upgraded my stock radiator to a Koyo AL part to increase cooling capacity (upgraded turbo = more heat).
