I wouldn't call it harassing noobs. I'd say he just gives them less room before "guiding" them to the "correct" path. (and when I say correct I mean the path known to work, the least headaches, and the greatest chance of success). All the local people with 6-port turbos are WELL versed in the risk they are taking, or at least have people guiding them through the process.
