Yes, the J-spec S4 twin scroll is backwards versus the US-spec system.
This is due to the RHD steering column snaking it's way next to the turbo on that side of the engine bay. We usually yank the twin-scroll and plug the actuator hole with an NPT plug. The twin-scroll gets in the way, and the turbo flows better with it removed. -Ted
