No it's thickness to thin from the top to 3 different spots around the spark plug holes and just below (where it gets hottest) and 'stretches the most' especially when overheated!.

If the rotor housing is too thin in this zone it will do water seals basically. And is an A typical sign of a motor that has been BDC'd

So what would be the tolerance for keeping it parallel to either side?

And what would be the thickness tolerance (+/-)? would there be any benefit in making it a few thou thinner or thicker?
