no power?

Finally got my 85 running and went out to crank and tune the carb last week and when I went to crank it battery started smoking on the positive side and ended up taking out my battery... so I put a new one in it and now I have no power at all... checked my fuse box under the dash all are good and I found my manuel and its mentioning something about fusable links so I checked those and I dont see burning or anything abnormal for a wire connection 30+ years old. Any ideas??

Check/replace your terminals. It might have smoked checked them out. Check all fuses and go from there.

Checked all that. What was smoking was the cable that was melting into another wire. Something shorted cause when I tested my old battery it had 35% on it which should have been enough to move the dash guages...

Sorry about the tripple post but after talking to atkins rotary and making a stop by my local dealership ive comeup with a possible cause and only place I can find it is in Pennsylvania part number is FA56-66-760 and its called the main fuse case is what the dealership called it located on the driverstrut tower with a direct line into the battery. And it cause nothing to work no power at all from what atkins told me. So after I get it ill update to let everyone kno if its my issue.

Problem was fixed by replacing the fuse case.
