The position sensor is built into the OMP. There is the stepper motor that controls the volume and then the position sensor that monitors the steppers position to make sure it's working.
If there is enough wire left on the OMP side, splice it back together and go on. If there isn't enough wire, I have an OMP with good harness I'll sell. Could probably also get you the terminals and seals to make a good patch to fix what you have. The ECU should trip a MIL. The old S5s would go into limp mode and not allow more than x% throttle position. No idea what the S6+ will do. Guessing nothing since enough people just remove them. I wouldn't run it on premix until you either fix it or remove it. It's possible the fault mode is to run the pump wide open and dumping a bunch of premix on top of that wouldn't be the best scenario. It's not a touch fix. So do the right thing.
