Billy,
The schedule is not "set in stone", it all depends on how popular each one is. The real reason for the split months was obvious on the prototype voting, certain generations/cars will always beat other generations/cars on shear sex appeal. This way each generation/car is guaranteed a spot.

I can see the point. The FD guys want to make sure they do not have to go against the FBs.
