Turbo Exhaust manifold on FC
Hello,
I am a new member and wish to give credit to Kevin for rebuilding my trashed JDM T II motor. I have an SS Autochrome exhaust manifold and want to install in on the motor. The manifold required a t4 turbo, could I use my stock turbo with an adapter? What is the classification for stock turbo on 90 T II? THere is an adapter block made for T3 to T4. Thanks Last edited by dowrt9fc; 10-26-2008 at 07:03 PM. Reason: gramma corrections |

The stock turbo is SIMILAR to a T3, but it isn't a squared "4-bolt" flange, it just has a slant to it and will not bolt to a T3 flange.
You will need a T4 turbo as I don't believe there are any adapters. |

Well, mistake #1: Buying SSAutoChrome ANYTHING!
That shit is SUCH a rip off, and I only heard bad things about their products.

When his products first came out that s what I heard.. but alot of people I know now who use it say good stuff about it.. remember ALL aftermarket or custom made headers will eventually crack why not buy n inexpensive one have it last a couple years and then buy another.. Another thing u can do is send it to JetHot and have them jetcoat it that will help strenghten it and also u can weld in a few "helpers" to help support the weight.. |

Or spend $350 on a HKS cast manifold.

The stock manifold is fine for the stock turbo.

yes but if u are changing to a T3 or bigger turbo then the stock manifold wont work..
also the stock manifold AND the hks cast manifold still cracks too. |

If anyone has any positive experience with turbo headers manifold on T II cars, please share any dyno whp you may have comparing to stock.
SS Autochrome turbo exhaust appeared to have smoother exhaust flow than stock T II manifold, how much of an improvement could it help given the same set up with an exception of t4 turbo on the same motor? Thanks ![]() |

weld a support rod onto the manifold, close to the turbo, to help support he weight. that should help with the cracking
