I don't think I could do it justice, as my forum time is limited, and I still haven't done an actual ignition upgrade in a 1st gen yet. Plus I don't have access to a running 12A, let alone with a Sterling carb to give first hand info anyway.

I appreciate that you'd ask me first, but I'm really not the best person for the job. Perhaps someone who has a Sterling carb and adjusted their ignition could give it a try? Has Jon (vipernicus) messed with his ignition? He's always good for a few paragraphs in his nice style of subjective first hand experiences.
