All 3rd gen's are turbo'd.
Almost all 1st gen's are non-turbo - there are a handful of 12AT's, which were not officially imported into the USA.
This is not weird; it's natural.

This has been discussed ad nauseum before on other boards.
Personally, I think it's a waste of time.
